Danske Mobler | New Zealand

Danske Mobler stands as one of the oldest surviving beacons of Scandinavian designer furniture in New Zealand. It was founded by Kaj and Bente Winther in 1962.

After WWII New Zealand was fortunate to receive two Danish migrants with a solid background in furniture. It was perfect timing because New Zealand had just introduced a host of import restrictions.

Six short years after setting up shop, thousands of style conscious kiwis had taken home their own piece of Scandinavian design. Danske Mobler was a hit. The business expanded further into manufacturing and international sales.

Danske Mobler is still operating today across New Zealand under new generations of the Winter family.
