A lack of machinery and materials after WWII encouraged designers to create objects that were stripped back to their purest form. Wim Rietveld excelled at creating simple industrial objects that were both elegant and refined.

The 'Reply' drafting desk is an inspired design classic and winner of the coveted "Golden Sign" or "Signe d'Or" in Brussels. It features sharp 'compass point' legs and a fully adjustable ergonomic desktop.

It is highly influenced by the work of French designer Jean Prouve and by Wim's father the famous and pioneering architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld.
