Outstanding Mid Century Decor

Marie and Charles have a good eye for a great find. Their home is beautifully occupied by a fantastic mid century modern collection.

As soon as we met Marie and Charles we were impressed by their great taste. Their collection of mid century pieces is to die for, and their home always looks ready to grace the cover of a design magazine. Recently they were kind enough to let us photograph their new space in Remuera - here are a few favourite shots that have us inspired. We love the lengths these two go to acquire and care for their furniture. There's a story behind every piece in the house. The Parker armchairs were a great find by Marie who noticed them at her mechanic's workshop. Despite the grungy environment the chairs were still in great condition. After a quick polish and recover they make a stunning addition to the lounge. The home is definitely smaller than their previous space - a converted toy factory in Ponsonby. The great thing about mid century furniture is how well it works in all settings - especially small spaces. The furniture has a lightness of form and a sculptural quality that looks amazing and really opens a small space up. After Mr. Bigglesworthy launched online Marie quickly snapped up the Archie Shine Sideboard. It's a pleasure to see our pieces inhabit such beautiful spaces and share our love of furniture with two knowledgeable enthusiasts.
