Simon Ogden '9 Graces No. 2' Rug for Dilana
A bespoke, artisan rug from the Dilana Workshop.
Simon Ogden's new handcrafted rugs by Dilana are archaeological in their making and design. They draw on a series of small linoleum works, The 9 Graces. In those works Simon explored the notion of intimacy in a systematic manner through cut-outs of linoleum manufactured from the late 1800s through to the 1960s. Each unique work is signed by the artist and combines 100% NZ wool, silk, 19th century gold thread, with elements of mother of pearl, and gold.
Dilana has been hand crafting New Zealand's most luxurious rugs for over 35 years. Since opening their Christchurch based Workshop in 1980, the company has successfully collaborated with many leading contemporary artists. The Dilana legacy can be seen in some of the most distinguished homes, commercial buildings, art galleries and museums throughout the world.
This rug has been hand tufted from the finest New Zealand wool at the Dilana workshop in Christchurch.
