Rare Early Modernist Rocking Chair
A standout example of early mid century New Zealand design.
This early 1950's rocking chair is is defined by sweeping curves that combine to form the armrests, rockers and structural elements of the chair. The design perfectly balances indulgent Art Deco streamlining with the emerging modernism of the day and it's adherence to clean lines, form and function.
The frame is crafted from generous pieces of highly grained oak that perfectly compliment the high end fabric from James Dunlop. It's an incredibly comfortable chair and will make a statement in any contemporary interior.
