Eero Saarinen Tulip Dining Suite for Knoll
Form and function are combined to perfection in this modern design icon produced by Knoll Associates.
The Tulip dining suite with its elegant stem and fluid sculptural form has become an icon of modern design. This futuristic set was created by the much lauded architect Eero Saarinen in 1956 and to this day remains engaging, vibrant and highly sought after. The form defining pedestal base was designed to address Saarinen's belief that “The underside of typical tables and chairs makes a confusing, unrestful world”.
Saarinen understood the power of good design, merging user comfort and organic form seamlessly into a forward focused object of desire. This stunning dining suite is no exception.
This is an early edition produced by Knoll in the late 1950s / early 1960s.
