Description

This piece is a masterful design, with a twisting body that is accentuated by two crossed arms of teal and aqua blue.

Seguso Vetri d'Arte operated from 1932-72, and remains one of the most well known Murano glass manufacturers. Flavio Poli took over as artistic director from 1937-63 and become famous for his designs using the "Sommerso" technique, a method which has become strongly associated with glass produced in the area. It is heavy, with a thick base of clear glass, containing a thin layer of a contrasting color submerged below the main body color.
