Description

Ole Wanscher is one of the leading lights in mid century Scandinavian design. He was the senior professor at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1955 until 1973 and has left a lasting legacy in furniture design. As a trained architect, Wanscher placed construction and form at the center of all his work. An alliance with the best cabinetmakers ensured his designs could be crafted at the highest quality, perfectly executed and made to last.

Wanscher always treated furniture design as if it was a branch of architecture and this is evident in this sophisticated offering by high end maker Poul Jeppesen. What appears on first glance to be a strictly linear desk is softened on close inspection by subtle curves and rounded edges. The desk is crafted from generous cuts of fine Cuban mahogany with a luminous grain.

This is a stunning offering from one of the grand masters of Danish design, ready to elevate any home office.
