Architectural 1950s Armchairs
These 1950s architect chairs are a standout example of New Zealand mid century design.
Full of energy and post war optimism, these chairs offer high quality craftsmanship and were likely made by an architect-designer.
Notice first the protruding back legs which arch upwards and connect to gently sculpted backrest struts. Sharply angled armrests are accented by a tight arc at each end. Overall we think this piece is a local triumph.
