Danish design great Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921-2003) made his name working for the world's best furniture companies like G-Plan and Faarup. His pieces combine minimal detail with graphic, organic contours.
The Danes have always loved Kofod-Larsen's work. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Denmark, Kofod-Larsen was quick to establish a reputation as one of the best designers both in Denmark and Internationally.
In the 1960's, celebrated UK furniture maker G-Plan realised they were loosing sales to imported Danish furniture retailers. They brought Kofod-Larsen's on board to create designs that would sit comfortably at the top of the market. Kofod Larsen's designs were marketed under G-Plans 'Danish Range' and are among the best pieces G-Plan has produced.
Today Ib Kofod Larsen's designs sell are highly coveted and obtain premium prices. His furniture, often in beautiful rosewood or palisander are considered some of the best mid-century Danish designs.
