Starlet Night: Preview 20 August
We are introducing mid-century Hollywood chic to our modernist store with the opening of the new collection 'Starlet Night'.
As inspiration for the upcoming 'Starlet Night' collection, we are particularly taken by the dramatic, seductive Hollywood stars of the era like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. The glamourous architecture of the Case Study houses, and iconic night time images from Julius Schulman looking to an LA landscape also offered a strong point of reference for the collection.
Luxurious, bold designs from the United States, Denmark and New Zealand set a scene for the indulgent mid-century interior. The focus is on the sweeping lines and subtle embellished patterns that captivated those at the cutting edge of Hollywood's glitterati during the mid-century era and continue to enthrall today.
High end furniture from some of the most prominent designers of the day is a spectacular part of this collection - from the luxurious designs of Milo Baughman to the ground-breaking modernist work of Charles and Ray Eames.
Join us for a champagne cocktail to preview the collection. The preview event will be held at the Mr. Bigglesworthy Gallery :
Thursday 20 August
6.30 - 9.30pm
15 Williamson Ave, Ponsonby
All pieces from the collection will also be available online at from 10am on Friday, August 21.
