At the top of our list of places we'd like to visit is the city of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, a UNESCO heritage site. A planned city developed over a mere five years, it is one of the most concentrated populations of modernist architecture.
Architect Oscar Niemeyer was the central architect involved in the plans to create the city, influenced by Le Corbusier with a futuristic element to his modernist designs. Niemeyer's influence was picked up in many other countries and fields, including furniture design. Companies like G-Plan in the UK and Broyhill in the US picked up on the dramatic curves for inspiration to create new designs which we've highlighted here.
