Iconic Norman Foster 'Nomos' Desk by Tecno
The Nomos Desk by Norman Foster for Italian maker Tecno is one of the most recognisable icons of the late 20th century. It's easy to see why – the frame has a rigid, zoomorphic skeleton of blackened steel combined with legs like an Apollo Lunar module and a streamlined glass table top.
With this many unique elements it's amazing how well this design works, but with the genius of Norman Foster pulling the strings it all somehow makes sense. The Nomos won the coveted Compasso d'Oro design award in 1987 and recently celebrated it's 30th birthday with a number of new desktops including cement, black marquina marble and smoked glass.
