Rare Modernist 'TV-T' Stacking Side Tables by Gerald Summers
These sleek, utilitarian side tables or stools are exceptionally rare to find in New Zealand, designed by pioneering designer Gerald Summers.
A bold steel central piece with a British Racing Green finish supports three legs which finish with a unique rounded terminal on the frame. Three tapered wooden legs and an elegant round top provide balance and warmth, offering a timeless example of early 20th-century design.
Summers' design philosophy focused on blending craftsmanship with utility, ensuring that each piece is both beautiful and functional. He is most recognised for his moulded plywood chair which is a formative work of early modernist design.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
