Sculptural Ces Renwick 'Sofarest' Settee by Airest
In the mid 1950s Ces Renwick of Airest looked to America for inspiration on a contemporary range of furniture that would push boundaries and inspire a local Kiwi audience. The work of high end New York designer Vladamir Kagan seems to have been the main influence behind many of the premium Airest designs of this era.
The rare and captivating Airest 'Sofarest' settee is a standout offering. The combination of clean lines, curvaceous legs and sharp upholstery make for a show stopping design that will turn heads in any contemporary interior. A handy side cabinet creates a lightness of form and ensures you can recline with a glass of your favourite within close reach.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
