Sleek John Herbert 'Da Silva' Sideboard by Younger
British furniture maker Younger crafted high end designs for discerning customers during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Their products were made in low volume to the highest standard and always on the cutting edge of design. This long-line offering called the 'Da Silva' was designed by John Herbert in 1964 and consists of a central bank of three drawers flanked by two side cabinets.
The simple elegance of this forward thinking design is perfectly executed with minimal adornment. The clean, repeated lines of the drawers and tapered legs set at the ends of the piece are particularly interesting features of this memorable offering. The doors feature iconic button-style handles which John Herbert used on a number of his designs.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
