Two Knud Faerch 'Model 343' Dining Chairs by Slagelse Mobelfabrik
Even from a very young age, accompanying his father in his carpentry workshop, Knud Faerch was heavily influenced by wood as a natural material and the aesthetic effects of design. This fascination led Faerch to study interior design, which eventually led to a landmark meeting with the highly influential Finn Juhl. The prolific Danish architect taught furniture design and inspired Faerch to forge his own career, which flourished in the 1950s and 1960s.
Possessing the hallmark sculptural qualities of the designer's style, these chairs in oak are an enduring piece for the dining room. Beautifully tapered at the backrest with unique, delicate curves, the curved shape supports the seated person with graceful lines. Tapered legs and a beautifully reupholstered seat complete this wonderful chair from a celebrated designer.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
