Early Modernist NZ Made Oak Coffee Table
This architectural coffee table is a coveted example of early modernist design in New Zealand. The design is very utilitarian with simple graphic forms and thoughtful details. It is made from solid oak with a vibrant grain which will add character to any contemporary setting.
Note: This coffee table is commonly attributed to legendary modernist architect Ernst Plischke however we have not seen any documentation or early photographs connecting it to this designer/architect. Even without a clear attribution it's a great example of early NZ modernism.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
