Iconic Paul Conti 'World's Most Comfortable Armchair' and Ottoman by G-Plan
This elegant and imposing armchair perfectly captures the glamorous understated British style of the 1960s. It is also a pop culture icon made famous by super villain 'Blofeld' in the James Bond film 'You Only Live Twice', plus it featured in the classic Michael Caine movie 'Get Carter'. Caine's character Jack Carter puts an end to Cliff Brumby who slumps back into the chair. ...What a comfortable way to go.
Designer Paul Conti has perfectly balanced a bold form with superior comfort, giving the Model 6250 a rocking, gliding and swivel function. The February 1965 catalogue from G-Plan enthuses about this chairs "uncompromising dimensions and comfort, amply meriting its description as the world's most comfortable chair".
The previous owner had this chair reupholstered and it has been cared for. Custom upholstery enquiries welcome.
