Pair of Sharp H Brockmann Petersen 'Model 17' Armchairs by Komfort
H. Brockmann-Petersen was a gifted Danish designer who collaborated with some of the most prestigious cabinet makers and furniture manufacturers during the mid-20th century. His work earned widespread acclaim, and his designs were showcased at the renowned Cabinetmakers' Exhibition in Copenhagen.
His innovative and forward-thinking creations played a crucial role in maintaining Danish modernism's prominence in contemporary furniture design throughout the late 1940s and 1950s. This pair of chairs is a set we've never seen in New Zealand before – a rare and exciting design which is full of confidence and geometric flourish particularly through the arms which feature a unique V shape.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
