Postmodern Philippe Starck 'Von Vogelsang' Chair by Driade
This playful postmodern chair comes with all the hallmarks of character and biomorphic form that we love from French designer Philippe Starck. It was issued in 1985 by high end Italian avant-garde furniture maker Driade. Today it is a rare, collectable design object and an important entry in the career of one of the most celebrated contemporary designers.
The 'Von Vogelsang' Chair was created in 1985 for Cafe Rothschild, constructed with tubular steel and perforated metal sheet. This design featured in Star Trek Next Generation episodes.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
