Sharp Mid-Century Rocket Floor Lamp by Gaylite Studios
Tapered curves, copper finished tubing and stilt-like legs enhance the 'Jet Age' qualities of this mid century lamp. It is both sleek and playful, making this a design which will light up any room, day or night.
A simple, vintage shade is the perfect finishing touch, easily able to be updated to give the rocket lamp a fresh, updated feel.

Sharp Mid-Century Rocket Floor Lamp by Gaylite Studios

Gaylite Studios was founded in the early 1940s by Kenneth and Barbara Treacher. The Auckland, New Zealand company focused on hand-painted lamp shade decoration until the '50s, when business relationships were established with Haeger Potteries and other companies in the U.S. With reliable production secured, Gaylite expanded it's offering to include completed lamps in a progressive contemporary style.
The Gaylight expansion was a success and the company quickly became a leader in it's field. Many of the lamp bases were designed at Gaylite Studios and manufactured by potteries in Italy, Japan and the United States, with some made in Auckland by Crown Lynn Potteries. Gaylite was sold in 1962, and closed for good a couple of years later. The company has left a lasting legacy of unique and beautifully designed modern lighting.
