Six Organic Ross Lovegrove 'Orbit' Chairs by Bernhardt Design
Owing a reference point to famous designers who have created successful designs in plywood, this is a contemporary interpretation of the stacking moulded plywood chair by Ross Lovegrove. An exaggerated seat is balanced with light, outward splayed legs in a contemporary steel finish to create a chair which pairs with a number of environments and material types.
Like the other designers before him (Eames, Cherner and Jacobsen), Lovegrove has pursued the development of new forms and in pursuit of evocative new ways to use materials. Lovegrove has had an impressive career linked to design products like the Apple computer and the Sony walkman. He also worked as a designer with Knoll International and also in collaboration with Philippe Starck and Jean Nouvel as a design consultant to Luis Vuitton, Cacharel, Dupont and Hermes.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
