Designer John Mortensen began his career in 1959 after graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and earning highest distinctions. Mortensen started out as a cabinet maker for Christensen & Larsen before setting up his own design practice and designing dining, office, and living room furniture for premium Danish and international furniture manufacturers.

Throughout his career, Mortensen specialised in woodwork, creating each prototype in his own workshop before sending them on for production. His cabinetmaking background was perfect for creating wooden furniture with sophistication and finesse. Today his designs have become coveted mid-century modern classics.
