High Society Auction
Mr. Bigglesworthy is pleased to introduce the 'High Society' collection. All lots will be available to view online and instore from November 13. Auctions will close by November 20.
This tightly curated offering draws on a diverse range of influences with a central focus on premium modernist design accented with contemporary and oceanic art. The event is tied together by a collector's passion for the rare, eclectic and well-crafted.
The auction is a collaborative offering with media giant Fairfax. We have been approached to help re-imagine the auction platform utilising emerging technology and social media channels. The auction event will be online with a physical viewing in store. We'll also be producing an interactive digital catalogue. All lots will be instore and online from the 13th of November.
Highlights include two rare and exceptional designs from influential American designer Milo Baughman which demonstrate a commitment to luxury balanced with an understated, modernist ethic. The highly talented husband and wife team, Charles and Ray Eames, are also represented with a standout offering being an early edition Lounge Chair (670) and Ottoman (671) in coveted rosewood.
The interiors concept is completed by a suite of modern art entries and highly crafted Oceanic objects. Art highlights include works from acclaimed New Zealand artists Bill Hammond, Andrew McLeod, Peter Robinson, Theo Schoon, Tony de Latour, Martin Poppelwell and John Reynolds. Also two works from Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Pacific works include a prestigious Waka Huia.
Join us for drinks and nibbles to preview 'High Society' on November 13.
