British born Gerald Easden is one of the most celebrated mid century Australian designers. Easden arrived in Australia in 1957 and quickly become one of the leading forces in modern design. He was a gifted furniture designer who also worked on large scale interior design projects. His many accomplishments also covered graphic design and the occasional foray into product design.

Easden won over twenty Good Design Awards and was awarded “Modern Icon” status of Australian Furniture by the Australian Furniture Association in 2013. His clients included Aristoc, Fler and Module Furniture, where he pioneered designs that were innovative, contemporary and had a lightness of form rarely achieved by the traditional furniture producers.
