Description

Fred Lowen's progressive designs for Tessa defined the contemporary furniture market throughout Australasia in the 1970's. Many of the ranges won Australian design awards and have since become iconic design classics that are still produced by Tessa today.

The T4 was designed in 1973, it featured a highly sculptural frame with a hammock style net that supports rich leather cushions. It's a brilliant Pan-Pacific interpretation of the laminated ply furniture championed by the Norwegian designers of the 1960s and 1970s.

This design also won an Australian design award and was showcased at the Cologne Furniture Fair to great acclaim.
