Flyover Coffee Table by Jamie McLellan
A contemporary coffee table from a prominent New Zealand designer.
The Flyover Table's longitudinal design and parallel lines are reminiscent of the underside of bridges, underpasses and motorway flyovers. Two pieces of thin sheet metal are folded into upside down U channels to create the tabletop, which sits upon pedestal fin legs. Elegantly machined angle brackets hold the structure together.
Since graduating in 1999 with a BDes in Industrial Design, Jamie Mclellan has designed for a number of international makers and agencies as well as local company 'Resident'. Before estblishing his own practise in late 2006, Jamie worked for iconic designer Tom Dixon and is known to have created the Spin Candleabra. He has also risen to prominence as the designer for popular shoe brand 'Allbirds'.
