Pair of Atomic Rocket Style Armchairs by Airest
Strap in and prepare for lift-off.
During the 1950's Ces Renwick of Airest looked internationally for inspiration to create furniture that would push boundaries and inspire a local Kiwi audience. For this design, Renwick was inspired by the work of groundbreaking Australian designer Fred Lowen and his recently released SC55 armchair.
The Airest interpretation of the SC55 features broad surfboard style armrests and dynamic, splayed legs. It perfectly captures the forward-focused, optimistic ethic of the of the post-war lifestyle. These super comfortable chairs are ready for any contemporary living area.
