Robin Day Hilstack Chair
Robin Day is one of the most significant British designers of the 20th century. Since winning first prize in the Storage Section of the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design (organised by MoMA in 1948), Day has built a legacy of innovation and forward focused design.
With its beech frame and gently moulded plywood seat, the Hillestak was Robin Day's first low-cost production design for Hille. Conceived when government-imposed Utility restrictions were still in place, this economical and practical chair remained in production from 1951 until 1967
