Three Verner Panton 'Panton One' Bar Stools by Montana
A mid century design classic that will still turn heads today
In 1955, Verner Panton designed his first chair, the Tivoli chair, for a restaurant in Tivoli, Copenhagen. In 2003, the chair was re-launched by Montana, and the Panton One Bar Stool was designed on the basis of Verner Panton’s written thoughts about other versions of the chair. The chair was awarded Best Classic at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in 2004 by the magazine Bo Bedre, and has since been renamed 'Panton One' to recognise that it was the first chair designed by Panton.
The corded seat, hand woven using polyurethane cord on a core of nylon is the most obvious design flourish that really sets these chairs apart. A refined elegance of form combined with sharp organic detailing make these iconic bar stools an absolute must have.
